One of the main advantages of Skyrim being on the market for as long as it has is that it is available across many platforms and devices. Long-time players have the choice of where they can play Skyrim, and players who have been eager to try out the iconic action RPG can finally access them in whatever form that they choose. This is likely why Bethesda continues to come out with special editions for Skyrim, to keep hardcore fans hooked and to intrigue new players about the game.

On Reddit, user Jestrabova shared a short clip of their first-time experience playing Skyrim. In the video, the player’s Dragonborn character can be seen gearing up to face off with one of the more dangerous monsters in Skyrim, the Frost Giant. Though slow and with easy-to-predict movements, giants in Skyrim can easily knock players away and kill them, especially if they are not equipped with the proper weapons and protective gear. And this can be seen in Jestrabova’s footage, where they are sent flying into the air when the Frost Giant hits them with their club.
Beginners to Skyrim would likely not be aware that Frost Giants were added to the base game as part of the Skyrim DLC Dawnguard. Found in fixed locations, these enemies drop different special items exclusive to the expansion. One commenter on the Reddit thread informed Jestrabova about this, just in case they may encounter another one in their adventures again. Otherwise, other players on the Reddit thread seemed to enjoy reminiscing about their own dangerous encounters with Frost Giants in Skyrim while watching Jestrabova’s clip.
It seems like Skyrim players are still learning something new about the old title, given how many Redditors have commented on the thread that they did not know Frost Giants were part of the Dawnguard DLC. With two other expansions for Skyrim, there are likely other features that some of the game’s community members may not be aware of yet. This means there are more things to look forward to in their next Skyrim playthrough.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
