At the first exhibition of Hurst’s spin paintings visitors were encouraged to try out the method themselves, which is what Snapchat is emulating here. You can try out the filter by scanning the Snapcode after this link.

Snapchat said that the new feature is in partnership with Partners in Health, a social justice organisation, helping to support the organisations efforts against Covid-19.

Damien Hirst said, “It’s amazing to be working with Snapchat on this totally mega spin art lens and making it possible for millions of people to make their own spin paintings right from their phones. I’m so happy that this partnership also supports Partners in Health, a brilliant and forward-thinking organisation that helps communities in developing countries around the world cope with the devastating impact of COVID-19.”

Here’s our effort. Pretty, isn’t it? Right, back to lockdown.
