Each Stranger Things poster features the tagline, “every ending has a beginning,” highlighting that season four of the endlessly popular series will in fact be its penultimate chapter. The first poster shows fan-favourite Jim Hopper (David Harbour) venturing into some kind of prison in the desolate Russian winter with a caption from Netflix Geeked that reads, “Russia. Getting the band back together. Bring a jacket.” The second poster features the telekinetic Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) as she stands in an empty hallway in the lab where she was experimented on. If you look closely, you can actually see her reflection in a broken mirror on the ground, in which she’s dressed in her hospital gown and shaved head from season one. The caption reads, “The Lab. Every story starts somewhere.”

Next, we have the gang of kids, including Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke), Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) venturing into the Spooky Creel House with the caption, “Creel House. Tick-tock”. Last but not least we can see Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) and his best friend Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) walking down a street in suburban California towards an ominous crater in the ground. The caption reads, “California. Hold onto your butts, brochachos.”
Ever since it premiered on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things has consistently been one of the most talked-about series of the streaming age. The 1980s setting and frequent references to the works of filmmakers such as John Carpenter and the late Ivan Reitman made the show incredibly addictive and fun to watch. Since 2016, Stranger Things has racked up numerous awards and nominations, including the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Netflix hasn’t released a full trailer for the next seasons of Stranger Things, but the current plot description reads, “It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.” Series creators Ross and Matt Duffer have also confirmed that season four will be split into two parts, and the series has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
The first volume of Stranger Things season four will premiere on May 27, 2022, followed by the second volume on July 1, 2022.
