Some of these questions presented in NewTales From TheBorderlands are not answered and are left to the audience to decide on. The game is rather contained in a smaller part of the Borderlands series and becomes an intimate story between the characters new to the Borderlands franchise. However, that does not mean that it is free from lingering questions.

5 What Happened To LOU13?
One of the most interesting and funny characters to perfectly fit into the Borderlands series is LOU13, who made his debut in New Tales From the Borderlands. This character is a debonair assassin robot, and becomes good friends with Octavio, with a hatred for his thievery. LOU13 has great characterization, as he pursues a life of comedy, while also remaining a dapper killing machine.
Sadly, LOU13 takes a fatal bullet in the protection of Octavio and dies. However, if players receive the best ending, LOU13 will be seen alive and well with the crew again. It begs the question of how exactly he was repaired, or more importantly, will LOU13 take this new life and pursue his love for giving humanity the gift of laughter and comedy?
4 What’s Next For The Characters?
When the first Tales From the Borderlands was released, players were eager to see fan favorites again. The stories of Rhys and Fiona were far from over, and luckily, they got to see Rhys again as an NPC in both New Tales From the Borderlands and Borderlands 3. Returning characters are always a lot of fun to see, considering that players develop a connection to them, as they have played as them, and cared for them.

Depending on the ending that players get, there could be room for another story with the characters in NewTales From theBorderlands. Pandora and the other planets are dangerous, and it is clear that Fran, Anu, Octavio, and LOU13 have just begun their adventures together, no matter what journey they embark on, or the industry they try to climb. Many love the cameos that come from the Borderlands franchise, and these characters could return.
3 Are The Guardians Still A Thing?
It’s fair to say that Borderlands has an estranged relationship with its lore. Some things can be convoluted and forgotten, but none are quite forgotten than that of the Guardians. These Eridian beings have advanced technology and are also defenders of the mysterious Vaults that exist around the galaxy, and perhaps the universe. They featured heavily in the first Borderlands, but have dwindled in the following sequels. As for Borderlands 2, they were reduced to mere statues, but Borderlands: The Presequel promised something larger at hand when a Guardian appeared.

When it comes to NewTales From theBorderlands, the Guardians are once again fairly absent from the overarching story that unfolds. It makes sense, as this is a more personal story than what fans are used to in Borderlands, but it is still jarring to not know much about the Guardians, as they are one of the most interesting aspects of the entire Borderlands mythos.
2 Where Are The Vault Hunters?
The first Tales From the Borderlands game featured classic Vault Hunter characters from Borderlands and Borderlands 2. Seeing characters like Zer0 was a great joy to fans of the series, as it further connected the characters in the same universe, and showed that life moves on after Borderlands 2’s conclusion. However, there is a notable lack of representation of characters in the previous games, which leaves New Tales From the Borderlands lacking the crucial DNA of the Borderlands series in its recognizable and charismatic returning characters.
As such, these characters in NewTales From theBorderlands are only seen as Vaultlanders, which are fun action figures that can be collected in the game. They even house interesting minigames in which they battle each other like collectibles. However, the fact that these famed Vault Hunters are toys and not the actual characters, begs the question of where are they now, and who decided to make a famed toy line of them.
1 Where Did The Anahatium Come From?
Part of the main story of New Tales From the Borderlands involves green and red crystal, both have the power of life and destruction and are seemingly sentient. When infused with these powers, the user becomes utterly godlike and can destroy or create with the click of a finger. These powers can even turn anything into tacos.
However, despite the omnipotent power, the Integrated decide to leave humanity, and wherever they go remains unknown. Where they came from, and what they have planned, is entirely unknown. Yet, the Anahatium is highly interesting for its advanced alien life, something that hasn’t been explored in Borderlands since the Guardians.
