RELATED: New World Reveals 2022 Roadmap
A significant boost to gathering tools was implemented for every tier of gathering tools. T1 gathering tools have gone from 100% to 200% base efficiency, so players beginning their gathering careers will have a far easier experience. Gathering in New World is a priority, especially for new players, so this change will be very helpful early on. Each further tier saw increases between 75% and 125% percent, making tool maintenance less of a hassle across the board. Other fixes help make equipment tooltips more accurate, which will make it easier for players to assess their damage dealing potential more accurately. Downtime for the update will take place at 5AM PT (12PM UTC) and will last for roughly two hours.
Since this update is focused on polish and quality-of-life, it has relatively little new content in store. This is in stark contrast to last month’s Heart of Madness update, which saw the final confrontation with New World antagonist Isabella. The March update added a new weapon, new exploration features, revamped enemy AI, and a huge number of further fixes and tweaks. It makes sense that this April update would then follow up by polishing and adjusting everything that was recently added. It’s also a sign that the next big update for New World may bring some much-needed new content to the island of Aeternum.
New World is available now on PC.
