RELATED: New World Gets Huge Update That Makes Hundreds of Changes and Adds New Story Quest
A substantial addition arriving with New World’s monthly update is the new 3v3 PvP Arena system. The new small-scale PvP game mode has teams competing in a “best-of-5” contest with the first team to win three rounds claiming the prize. Arena rounds are two minutes long, and once the timer is up, a ring of fire will begin to envelop the arena forcing participants to engage. Players who have reached level 20 and up may queue for Arenas in the Modes menu, allowing players to participate on-demand from anywhere in the game.
To accompany the new Arena system is New World’s PvP Rewards Track, introducing the new currencies PvP XP and Azoth Salt. The currencies can be earned through most PvP-related activities, and bonus Azoth Salt is earned when gaining XP while flagged for PvP. PvP XP contributes toward climbing the rewards track for rewards such as gear, weapons, and emotes. At each milestone, one of three items may be purchased with earned Azoth Salt. The update also brings three new Expedition Mutators into the game, and players may also choose their preferred pronouns, which will now be properly referenced throughout the game’s systems.
New World is available on PC.
