For those who may be unfamiliar with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, it is a new TMNT beat ’em up game developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu, the latter of which was also responsible for the well-received Streets of Rage 4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has earned praise for its fun beat ’em up gameplay, 6-player co-op support, and how it pays tribute to TMNT’s past.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Reviews

Not only does Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge pay homage to classic TMNT beat ’em ups through its gameplay, but its art style and story are directly inspired by the classic 1987 TMNT cartoon. It’s a no-brainer for fans of the beat ’em up genre and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and it’s definitely a big get for the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge reviews have been high and deservedly so, but it’s not even the highest-rated new game to come to Game Pass this year. Earlier this year, point-and-click adventure game Norco released for PC Game Pass, and it currently has a 91 overall rating on OpenCritic. This makes it the second-highest rated game of the year, right behind Elden Ring, which has a 95 overall rating.

A big part of the Xbox Game Pass strategy is quantity, making sure that as many new games come to the service as possible, but that doesn’t mean that it sacrifices quality. High-scoring games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Norco are evidence of that, and Game Pass subscribers should have plenty more critically-acclaimed games to play in the months ahead.
